Sides' extraordinary book brings the history of the American conquest of the West to ringing life. It is a tale with many heroes and villains, and at the center of it all stands the remarkable figure of Kit Carson--the legendary trapper, scout, and soldier who embodies all the contradictions and ambiguities of the American experience in the West.

About Hampton Sides

A native of Memphis, Hampton Sides is editor-atlarge for "Outside" magazine and the author of the international best-seller, "Ghost Soldiers "(Doubleday), which was the basis for the 2005 Miramax film, The Great Raid. "Ghost Soldiers "won the 2002 PEN USA award for non-fiction and the 2002 Discover Award from Barnes

I personally had learnt a lot from your work. And the project I did was to introduce those good materials related to treatment of depression to Chinese ppl through Netease Open Course , thus I recommended your resources, including your Oxford Mindfulness Centre, your podcasts and your book (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression in chinese version). Hope more and more people could benifit from your studies.

I hope for a third novel as well, but totally understand that sales is a huge factor! I own both of the books, and will absolutely pre-order the third when and if it comes!

If you move to another platform, I'm guessing you'll no longer be using the website built with GoDaddy. So you'll need to rebuild all your pages again.
