I have been a Safari Books Online customer for many years. I am very disappointed by the path this product has taken now. As a scientist you can always judge the usefulness and dissemination of your work by tracking your own citations (not just the journal impact factor). If these new online publishing outfits meet your expectations then that is fine. If you strive only ever to publish in Nature or Science, that is also fine.
