At the center of the debate over complementary and alternative medicine-from acupuncture and chiropractic treatments to homeopathy and nutritional supplements-is how to scientifically measure the effectiveness of a particular treatment. Fourteen scholars from the fields of medicine, philosophy, sociology, and cultural and folklore studies examine that debate, and the clash between growing public support and the often hostile stance of clinicians and medical researchers.

About Daniel Callahan

Daniel Callahan is director of international programs at The Hastings Center and senior fellow at the Harvard Medical School. His many books include False Hopes and The Troubled Dream of Life: In Search of a Peaceful Death.

When one of my books pops up on one of those little niche lists, I make mention of it on Twitter or Facebook in the spirit of, "oh, look, isn't that nice / cute," but I'm not rushing out to slap stickers on the covers. Tomorrow those titles will be back to their comfortable spots deep in the six-figure charts, after all!

If you are looking for something very easy to use, I'd suggest you check out Weebly or even Wix. But if you are looking to create website that is very stylish and has responsive templates, I"d suggest you test out Squarespace.

Just to be clear, Mailchimp is a separate service that you have to subscribe to, as they are independent of Squarespace. Squarespace just makes it a bit easier to integrate Mailchimp into your website.
