Curves enhance our enjoyment of the visual arts, bringing life into otherwise dull compositions. Stylized plant forms have been used as a key component of decorative ornament for thousands of years. In this beautiful little book, using both rare antique engravings and original graphics, Dr. Lisa DeLong introduces us to many of the secret techniques long used to employ curves in the traditional arts. From arabesques to wallpaper designs, iron railings to penned flourishes, tiles to arches, this book will be an essential companion to any designer.

About Lisa DeLong

Lisa DeLong has a Ph.D. in the use of geometry in art. A native of Utah, she works in London and around the world promoting excellence in the traditional arts.

squarespace was a godsend. I do not have a digital design background so it took a bit of time to get use to it, but once you've got the hang of the Squarespace interface, the sky is the limit.

The Toronto library has tons of audiobooks that i check out to my android and zune devices via overdrive. I highly recommend audiobooks particularly for driving. Fiction doesn't lend itself well, it's just not the same. But non fiction is incredible. I down one book about every two weeks! I have been doing it for years. Highly recommended!

If you are only using Squarespace's subdomain name (such as abc.squarespace.com), then yes, Squarespace does own that domain name.

Fantastic book raising important issues, and I love your reasons for giving it away.

Didn't pay for it. Got it through another indie-pubbed friend who made a contact at B&N and shared that contact with me and others, and I did have the indie marketing support of epublishingworks.com, which I'm sure helped a lot to push the book.
