This is an evocative portrait of the secret and spectacular geological and other natural features of this wild country. Namibia is a vast, ancient place, its legacy an endless expanse of desert sand fringed by coastal plain and rugged mountain terrain and dotted with geological wonders that remain the country's most impressive features. Intrigued by the scenic splendor and entranced by the ever-changing landscape that emerges beyond every corner, every towering dune and every mountaintop, Lily and Marcel Jouve traveled the length and breadth of the country to discover the varying facets of the land and its geology. In "Secret Namibia", they share their exploration of the terrain, and reveal its secrets - from the geomorphological make-up to the best routes to follow and the finest places to stay. From the famed Spitzkoppe to Kaokoland, Etosha National Park to the Fish River Canyon, Sossusvlei to Sandwich Harbor, this is Namibia through their lens, their celebration of its rock and sand, valley, canyon and plain - the immense space carved by water and wind and the passing of time - and the unique flora and fauna that have made their home in these remarkable landscapes. "Secret Namibia" is an invitation to discover, through word and image, the intriguing natural features of this wild country.

About Lily Jouve

Marcel Jouve was born in Nimes, France, and trained as an engineer in agronomy. He worked for the Ministry of Environment in Paris for several years before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has lived and worked in Kenya, the Philippines and Namibia, and is currently based in Gabon. Lily Yousry-Jouve was born in Cairo, Egypt. She studied law before devoting her time to painting. While living in Namibia, she exhibited at the National Art Gallery of Namibia, in 2006, and the Omba Gallery, in 2007. She is also the author of two travel guidebooks, Philippines: Places with a Heart and Thailand: Places with a Heart, and contributed to the 2006, 2007 and 2008 editions of the Greenwood Guide to South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia, Handpicked Accommodation. Captivated by the poetry of the Namibian landscape, Marcel and Lily devoted all their leisure time to travelling the length and breadth of this stunning country to capture its essence in words and photographs.

Hi Jeremy, I was impressed with your review. I do have a question about the GoDaddy Website BuilderЙ can I add Google Adsense and add advertisements manually. I sometimes get advertisement request (usually in html format)?

Hi JeremyI'm a set designer, and I wish to promote my boutique rental properties. So of course Squarespace is aesthetically my first choice. BUT the phone support offered by WIX makes me almost willing to compromise! Also, I did not see templates on either site that had good calendar features (for showing availability etc., and local events). Do you know if I can import a good monthly calendar from elsewhere?Thank you!!!Miriam

Lee, great blog about the reality behind the happy talk. The tech gurus have tried to keep cost at the core of the Apple where nobody will see it. Now it's out there, thanks to your research and disclosure.
